Mickey Mouse is Coming to KC
Mickey Mouse will be arriving at Kansas City Union Station on Saturday, October 10, 2009. He and a few friends, including a few Marines for Toys for Tots will be briefly stopping in town around 10 am until noon. This is a free event for those that want to attend, however they do ask that you bring an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots.Here is the info:
Mickey Mouse will pay a visit to Kansas City’s Union Station this Saturday to unveil “The Walt Disney Express,” a traveling art exhibit that celebrates Walt Disney’s love of trains. The collection features unique historical artwork, sketches and artifacts from the Walt Disney vault.
Kids & families are invited to join Mickey and participate in the festivities, which will include dancing, toy demonstrations, various train-themed play stations and a chance to learn to draw Disney characters with John Quinn, Disney Master Artist.
WHEN: 10 a.m. - noon, Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at Union Station, 30 West Pershing Rd., Kansas City, MO 64108 – art exhibit display will continue for one week at Union Station
WHO: Mickey Mouse! Also long-time Disney artist, John Quinn, Radio Disney and U.S. Marines representatives for “Toys for Tots”
COST: Free. Guests are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation as Disney helps kick off the annual holiday campaign.

Yes, I do plan on being there but not sure how long I will stay. I'm also thinking of donating a stuffed animal as well as a few books. I absolutely love Mickey Mouse, even have one from many moons ago that Mickey himself signed at Disney Land. As for Toys for Tots I couldn't think of a better program at the holiday times for kids. They are wonderful to the little ones.
