AccuClean: No More Fears
I remember SoccerBoy breaking down in tears during baseball season because the leaves, pollen, dust, etc were just too much. This is a kid that I had no clue had allergies because we had been living in the desert. We've moved since then but I won't be surprised again, we are in an area that has nothing but trees, grass, tons of pollen and dust.
I recently got an email about a new thing called, AccuClean and bascially this will CLEAN your room. By clean I'm talking if you look towards your window during the day you probably see tons of little things floating between the sunrays. Am I right? With AccuClean it takes that out and destroys it.This is actually one of those air-filtrations that takes it all out of your house. So if you've got a child that deals with this every year you may want to look into it.
Last Day of School
Tonight we'll watch 4 movies, ending with scary and eat popcorn and cookies. I've also baked a cake since it is the last day and all. What do you do to celebrate the last day of school?
Lets take a peek at grades:
SoccerBoy has improved or stayed the same in every subject.
Math assessment went from a 72 to a 91%
Science Assessment went from 82 to a 90%
Social Studies went from a 79 to a 92%
As for his reading, which ya'll know he struggled with he is now at grade level and is loving to read. So of course this summer his own goal is o read 1000 pages. Some type of contest they have at the school. Actually the school allowed every student to check out a total of 10 books each for the summer. WOW! I love this school.
Ballet Girl has stayed pretty much the same since she came here. Her biggest issue with the transition is she wasn't the key helper and got in trouble a bit for talking and helping others. She doesn't yet get she can't do that here. Oh and she's discovered what a "crush" is. As for her reading, she was almost (by a few points) a year above her reading level. I figure she'll be over it by the end of the summer.
I'm very happy with both kids and I know they'll love the summer. Oh and for those that have already been reading my blog you should know that just because it is summer does NOT mean they'll stop learning. We've already made our first goal list for week one. More on that next time.

KC Mompreneur Meeting
We'll be leaving around 5 a.m. this morning (so I'm already gone) and will have to actually wait at the hubby's shop until we are able to go off to my event. Should be an interesting wait. haha, I'm totally bringing the laptop with me. (think I wouldn't?)
I have found one other blogger that will be going, her website is Professional Scrapbooking Services. Maria Bailey, CEO of BSM Media will also be one I seek out when I first get there.
As for me, it'll just be myself along with some papers and a few review products to show what it is I do. I'll let ya'll know how things go. Okay I'm off to get ready as I know getting up at 5 a.m. is going to be hard with 4 kids and a hubby.

Clorox Cleans Better
Why? For one it is easier and all I have to do it pull them out, heck they can even go in the car with us and clean areas of a camp I'd never touch otherwise. Or the bottom of a swing set. Yes, I've been known to do that.
But for this I'll say it comes in its own container, just like a baby wipes container so DON'T mix them up.
We've used these on just about everything and I really don't need to toss it away immediately. Many times I've had to toss napkins because they got too soaked. With the wipes though you clean until YOU are done, not when the wipe is. These smell good too, they don't stink with too much chemical smell on them. Actually mine is scented with the lavender scent so they actually smell really good. I've wiped down every room in the house, bathroom, toy room, toys, kitchen counters, tv area and of course the exersaucer.
The Clorox wipes take 99.99% of all germs, which is great for those with kids as you know they are always bringing in germs and getting sick. I'll definitely be buying more when I run out.

Google Adsense is Down

Yes, that's right, Google Adsense is down today. Talk about a shock when I went to check my stats. But even more of a shock was scrolling down the page of Google Adsense and realizing just how many different languages they cover. Wow! From one huge world it just made everything that much smaller.
Do you use Google Adsense? What country are you in?

My 1 1/2 year Old Plays Movies Himself

Little A has figured out what buttons to push to make his dvd play. See he has this favorite one, which I've talked about a lot, it's "Your Baby Can Read." He loves this video and I love it because it keeps his attention but I've also noticed that he has actually learn to read a few words. For instance if you show him the word clap he will do it, the word hi or wave and he does.
Now I hear kids pick up on things but he isn't even 1 1/2 years old yet and he can already push play and stop on my dvd player.
Before attempting to put the movie in he does try to let me know. He says, "Watch" when he wants me to put in his video. If I don't he grabs the box and tries putting it against the tv and if that doesn't work he puts it on top of the dvd player saying "Watch" over and over as he pushes the buttons.
What do you think? When did your child start putting DVDs in the player?

Ragu's in the Microwave Now
It's the new "Ragu: All Natural" which comes in a microwavable bag. As a home mom of four kids and a hubby that comes home at various hours I love to be able to pop things in the microwave whenever I really need to and not have to wait all day. That's the joy of this.
Twice a week the hubby has college and comes home late, instead of making something new or waiting for dinner I like to nuke whatever we ate. I had BabyGirl clip the corner of the bag and I tossed it in the microwave for the desired 90 seconds. I poured it over our spaghetti that we left for him and that was it.
Oh I had enough leftover to eat some myself and I must say it did taste like the regular thing. I'm not sure if they come in a variety of flavors yet but I'd love it if they could do this with mushroom or sausage. (hint, hint) They do have garlic, tomato and garden vegetable though.
I won't lie to you, I'm not very imaginative when it comes to making dinner meals. If you aren't you can visit the Feed Our Kids Well and get a 30 page book of idea. It's free too.

Ice Cream, You Scream

It was such a beautiful day with a bit of wind, but I'm still surprised there weren't more people sitting out front. They've got these really nice black iron tables with the glass tops. Of course she had to give her brother a couple of bites. See she insists he talks to her, "Mom he told me he wants a bite of a grasshopper cause he never had it."

After our delicious treat we decided to head home, but went on a more sightseeing adventure and walked a few extra blocks to look at the more beautiful homes in the area. We saw an older man watering his yard, one trimming his grass, an older lady mowing her grass and a younger man washing his car. She was more impressed by the helicopter leaves she kept finding on the ground. (pics of those later)

This is our back yard and of course BabyGirl is playing helicopter in the grass. The grass was just cut last week and look at how fast it has grown. I must go find the recharger now. Later
Going Out...
ANYWAYS....
Today, the birds are singing and there is a slight, very slight breeze in the air. I've decided the two little ones and I are going for a walk and I'm bringing the internet with. Why? Well I'm going to take a few shots while we are out to show ya'll where we live and just how beautiful it really is. We are going to what has become my favorite ice cream place.....Sheridan's Frozen Custard. Okay, not really ice cream but you get the drift. Yummy.
I'm probably going to try their Chocolate Mouuse Pothole and BabyGirl isn't sure what she wants yet, I even tried pulling up a menu. lol. But you know us girls like to decide when we get there. :)
Okay I'm off to eat lunch and head to Sheridan's.

Sadness
I wait and wait and still nothing. I just don't understand it. Have I done something to bring this on or was this a long time coming? I believe I've known for a very long time but it was always pushed under the rug. But like many things that get swept away it only piled higher and higher. Now it's this hill in front of me. Sure I could climb it and probably conquer it but why? This shouldn't be a struggle and I should never have to wonder.
I keep thinking back to yesterday and remembering all the fun times I've had. Times that will be forever in my heart but will probably never surface again. (to those that are actually reading this I am sorry but I had to express myself today)
Why is it so hard to show emotion? All I want is to know. Tell me one way or the other. Tomorrow will always come, but I want happiness. I want to be able to smile again and share in stories and laughter. I don't want to sit at home wondering and being closed away. I want my heart to be happy, to smile and laugh. Is that too much to ask?
I know somewhere along the way I've lost whom I really am, but I want that girl back, no matter what. Be prepared because she's climbing out of that box and ready to fight.
Loving Me Some of That Baby DVD

I'm typing this in the living room as BabyGirl is dancing in the living room to our new DVD, That Baby DVD, she's cracking me up trying to copy the things that these kids do. Oh let me explain. The kids love watching the kids on the tv and dancing with the music.
The "That Baby DVD/CD" has a group of sometimes fast and sometimes calming songs that are played. I love it, because it's not something loud and obnoxious that some kids tend to play. This second I'm hearing the piano playing "Get Together" (song 6) while it is playing flashes of photographs are coming to life all of which have kids doing something in it from walking together to blowing out a dandelion. It's just so soft and relaxing.
My kids really like the animation in the "Garden Song" (song 7) which has some colorful pictures (cartoonish) of flowers dancing back and forth as a frog plays an instrument in the background. From there flashes of children planting in their garden with mom.

Above all my favorite is When we Grow Up, I think this is just a sweet song about how we shouldn't worry about the way we look. "You Don't have to change at all.....When I grow up, I'm going to be happy...."
The That Baby DVD/CD set is great for children 8 and under, definitely for 4 and under as they really get a kick out of it. I'm including a few shots of Little A dancing along with it, now these aren't great photos because they turned out dark. He's actually bopping up and down with his little bottom shaking. hehe, I love to see this side of him.
"I like the puppet one and it's so laaaalaaaa" (she's singing and spinning in circles)- BabyGirl
Little A is sitting on the floor watching the grandpa kissing his grandson, he's just totally into this. Oh and I did ask one other child, SoccerBoy (now he's 11 and too cool for this type of stuff) did state he liked, "Happiness Runs/Circle Game" and I must agree it is a very nice song that just flows through the room when it's on.
Want to check it out for your son or daughter? You can purchase, That Baby DVD/CD at www.ThatBabyDVD.com. As an extra bonus for those that place an order between now and the 18th using the code "MotherTalk" will be entered in a contest to win an iPod Nano.

World's First Real Green Puppy
According to what I've read a dog does sometimes do this when the amniotic fluids leaks into the placenta and dyes the fur. Man I'm glad babies don't do that.
Veterinarians say this sometimes happens when the mother's amniotic fluid mixes with the placenta during birth and dyes the coat of the puppy.
Many may think this is a hoax but now that we know it is possible doesn't it give you reason to wonder. Wow, I bet they keep this pup, if not he'll be sold quickly. You can mail him to me, I'm currently trying to talk the hubby into letting me get one.
Here's the pic. (he's so cute)

Thursday Thirteen: Mother's Day Gifts
1 Give mom Flower, everyone knows mom likes to have fresh smelling flowers. But instead of "just flowers" why not spice it up a bit and add something personal.
2 "Mommy Time" every mom needs some time of her own and many people forget about this because....well because mom is just always there. Mom is mom, but mom is a person too, send her out of the house or if she wants you take the kids and let her spend some alone time.
3 Make dinner, no not have mom make dinner but surprise her with a meal. It doesn't matter if the meal is pancakes for dinner or pizza. If mom can be waited on it'll make her feel special.
4 Chocolates, if mom likes chocolates and most likely she does this could be a great gift. But don't expect any of these goodies, after all they are for mom right?
5 Spa gift bags are nice, these can be purchased from stores like Walmart and K-mart or even Bathworks. These range from $4 on up and can make mom a relaxing bath inside her own home. Course this does mean NO KNOCKING on the door.
6 Desk garden or an herb garden can be something mom would enjoy. This doesn't take much work and mom can see it throughout the day.
7 books are another favorite for moms. For me I like just about anything but I really love historical romance books (not that a family member would pick that out) but I'm also a big fan of business and PR style books. Find out what mom really likes and go with it, if you still aren't sure you can buy her a giftcard to a local bookstore to let her pick out her own.
8 Ipods, you mean mom doesn't have one yet? Buy her own and she'll be able to go on her walks with music and not take your players anymore. They've got a ton of sizes now that come in a variety of colors. I just love the pink and silver ones.
9 For those with young children, have them make mom a Mother's Day Poem and put their handprints on it. Moms love just about anything made by their own kids, they'll even wear macarroni noodles around their neck.
10 Take the family out to get pictures done, no matter what she tells you mom loves family pictures.
11 Take the family out to a meal or movies, but make sure it is a movie mom will want. Or you can buy a few dvd (mom likes) and a bunch of her favorite candies and place them in a basket for her.
12 If mom has everything and money is no object but she just LOVES her coffee you could always get her Jura-Capresso 13187 Impressa E8 Super-Automatic Espresso Machine. Wow, now this is almost $900, but it'll definitely put a smile on her face to know how much she matters.
13 Spa treatment, not the bath stuff but the real thing. Treat mom to a day at the spa and let her pamper herself, she definitely deserves it.

CranEnergy
As many of my readers know I love drinking what's healthy for me when I can (take out my fraps) and this is another of those drinks that'll help in the aid. My only problem with trying these is I wanted more of the Raspberry Cranergy drinks and haven't yet been able to find them. They are made from green tree extracts as well as lots of b vitamins and with very few calories. It beats drinking koolaid or soda.
Now I know this isn't a really long review but the best thing to me was it tasted good, not sweet or sour (like many cranberry juices I've had made by OceanSpray). This was one of those, just right drinks that I will try finding at Walmart. They are called energy drinks so of course BabyGirl pretended to run around the house, when I asked her why. "Mom they give me energy." I do like that they come in a small size as well as the family size.

Do you actually use a coupon site? If so what one do you use? CouponMom is free to sign up. When you explore the site you'll discover areas such as: Freebies, coupons by state, restaurant coupons, articles on how to save money, CouponMom Blog, etc. The Coupon Mom Blog actually posts a coupon or freebie once every day.
Here is a pic of the site I took today:

What are some ways you save money? To be honest, while being in the military as far as savings would go we'd shop on the base and then hit up the sales. Before that I'd hit up the double savings coupons when I could in Oklahoma. Not sure if they do that out here, but now that I'm out of the military I even cut coupons. What are some sites you use?

Bad Disney Girls vs Good Girls
My youngest, age 4 (BabyGirl), wants the wig and a microphone so she can sing like her. My oldest daughter, age 7 (BalletGirl), wants to dress like her and have all her latest fashion wear. So where do I stand? While I did think some of her outfits were a bit too old I was okay with her. That is until now. Last thing I need is my little 7-year-old thinking its okay to have your clothes off for a picture and it isn't like I can hide this from her, go to the store and look at the check-out. What am I going to do blindfold her?
So, this got me thinking what other Disney girls have done bad things in the past that have redeemed themselves? Please help out this should be a bit of fun.
Bad:
Miley Cyrus, (Hannah Montana)with her recent photos leaked on the web with underwear and now the Vanity Fair shoot.
Jamie Lynn Spears, (Zoey 101)getting pregnant at 16 and not married.
Good:
Selena Gomez from Wizards of Waverly Place
Emily Osment, BFF to Hannah Montana
Demi Lovato, BFF to Raven
Raven-Symoné Pearman
Hilary Duff
Brenda Song, she's currently suing an escort service for using her picture though.

Thursday Thirteen

The theme this week is to pick a letter from the alphabet and write 13 things about it.
C is my letter
1. C reminds me of a cup, which of course I use daily but what do I put in the cup?
2 . Coffee of course. What did you think I would put in the cup? But lets chat about that, I love the little creams (haha another C) that go in it such as vanilla, chocolate, etc. You? Depending on my mood I'll either take it black or with cream and sugar, never milk.
3. Chocolate is another drink I'll put in my cup first thing in the morning. Course that is if the kids aren't in the room, otherwise I have to make an additional 4 cups. I love the marshmallows in my chocolate, however hubby recently brought home flavored ones. Ikkk, don't like mini fruity marshmallows.
4 Caffeine is another thing that goes into my cup, but many don't realize chocolate is also caffeine. Every day I must have something that has it, otherwise I end up with the shakes. Yeah I know caffeine withdraw, currently going through that now. Will have to make some tea as I have run out of everything. lol
5 Children and no I don't put them in my cup, but it is another thing I can't get enough of. My children, at least two of them are with me all day. Together we'll watch shows on tv, play and feed the birds.
6 Cartoons is the one thing on the television I hear all day, all day that is until 4 p.m. and then it's all mine. MINE I tell ya, MINE. Hey, a mommy has to watch her shows right? I watch: Gilmore Girls, Reba, lots of Reba and then depends on the day on what I'll watch at night. Kids shows are thankfully Sesame Street.
7 Cats is something I don't have but am really beginning to want. As a child we always had a cat or two in the house, in fact we had hundreds. Okay not really but some days it felt like that. One of my cats names were Del Taco and yes that is where we found her and then brought her home to live with us. She'd later runaway, hopefully she found her home and didn't meet a coyote.
8 Coyotes, while they may be a beautiful animal and fast, they are never something you want to meet on your way home. As a teen I was cutting through the desert after a sleepover when I came face to face with my first coyote. I wasn't sure if I should move, run, scream or what. I begged it not to attack and I slowly, ever so slowly walked home. Guess what? The thing followed me. I guess it was watching over me since it was around 7 a.m.
9 California, the place where I would spend most of my life, that is until I got married to a marine and together we'd travel the United States. Some days I miss California, which is funny because I always stated I'd never look back. While the place may be huge and something everyone says they want to move to. I hated the sun, desert, wind blowing dirt in my face, WIND, and the miles of nothing. But now I'm missing my family that all still lives out there and I only see every couple of years. I know its funny but it seems the one place I grew to hate is the one place I miss the most.
10 California City is the place that holds a huge spot in my heart, it is the place I grew up in my high school years. The one place where I'd walk home drunk from the teen club (first time) after some friends and I had a little too much vodka and juice. I couldn't understand then why you don't pour a drip or two of oj into your cup of vodka when you have most of it filled already with the V stuff. hehe. The place I took long walks, dreamed dreams and had those first crushes. My parents still live out there as do many of the friends I graduated with. Hopefully one day we'll all have a huge reunion.
11. Childhood, it's one of those things you will always look back on and remember. You'll remember the good and the bad and try hard to forget the bad but sometimes it outweighs everything. For instance I can remember the worst of things but when someone asks if I remembered something like camping and the bear that came into the tent and how we would shoot the rapids I can kind of. But it is those bad memories that I can remember vivid details. Strange isn't it. You can remember that but not all those friends in the picture you have at some dance. But I wouldn't change the past for the world, I'll take it with the good and the bad for I believe the things I've went through have made me whom I am. I'll always treasure the camping we did as kids with our parents, shooting the rapids with my dad (even after he found out I didn't know how to swim) hehe, and the long bike rides we'd take. I'll never forget those long nights before the first day of every school year with my sister. Or the chats with my mom, who I've become even closer to now.
12 Couches the one place every memory holds. Oh the things couches could tell if they could speak. What type of couch do you have? I have one with the chaise and it is so soft, most couches we've had were hand-me-downs, this one we bought ourselves. Hey after 10 years it was high time.
13 Finally Characters, my most bizarre character I've written about is a stalker and boy can he spook me. I've heard you must get into the mind of your character but what happens when he's a murderer?
I hope you enjoyed my Thursday Thirteen and will follow along with a few others. Don't forget to leave a comment so I can follow you.
