Mother's Day- What does this day mean to you?

Welcome to yet another blog carnival, this time we are doing, "Mother's Day- What does this day mean to you?" Mother's Day means so much to so many different people. For the most part it is a day to remember mom and give her something special, even if it is just one hour away from home or by herself in a bubble bath. Mother's day is a day to show her how much she matters to everyone, so this Mother's day at least do me a favor and call her if she isn't in the area. Believe it or not, a simple phone call can brighten up a mother's day. Oh and if you have aunts or grandmothers, you might want to call them too.
A few things this mom is hoping for this year:
- an hour at the book store
- a book (yes I know it doesn't take much to make me happy)
- something homemade (I love those things the kids make)
- flowers (a girl loves these, no matter what she says)
- a 10-15 minute bubble bath (WITHOUT the children walking in)
- to sleep in (not happening but still wishing for it)
It may sound like a lot but if you really think about it, it isn't. Don't forget to read these wonderful entries on what Mother's Day meant to them.
- Katelyn over at Stamping Mad has wrote about what she'll be getting her mother and I must say this sounds like a great idea.
My daughter just brought me home a poem like that about flowers. Growing up and even in recent years I've written little poems or memories to my own mother to let her know how much she matters. My dad always calls me to chew me out for making her cry and then she slaps him and explains it was a good cry. Man, you'd think he'd learn by now.
- Linette, over at The Virtual Garden explains why when she thinks of Mother's Day she thinks of gardening.
Linette- We always went out and pruned the flowers, I do miss seeing mom's garden now, even though back then I probably would've said I hated it. Mom had 48 rose bushes and 7 trees and I could be wrong on the roses, she probably had more.
