School Shopping

It's that time again, time to empty out your wallets or fill up your layaway as you pile up the clothes for the new school year. You'll want to head to the stores early as you know those last few weeks will only pose lines, lots and lots of lines for you to wait in and maybe even a few fights over school items.

So, why go to the store when you can shop online. If you are looking for something for a preschooler or a elementary student shot at Tuttibella and get a few of their Back to School clothing. They've got adorable outfits that you'll love and your children will enjoy. If you want your child to look stylish this is the place to shop, and there won't be any lines, just click and wait for it to arrive at your door.

The baby is 9 weeks

The baby is 9 weeks old inside me and it just about looks like a mini baby. We have all been following along, the kids are so excited and ask every day to look at the webpage here to see what he/she/they (their joke) looks like.

Yesterday was dad's bday so they made him a cake and a few gifts. Very quiet time at home. In just a few more days it'll be the youngest's birthday and trust me she's already asking when is her 3 year old birthday. ;) She knows she has presents but cant' open them before that.

Found a lot of medical history so hope that'll please the doctor as I can't get two sides of the family.

Besides that the weather has been hot, humid actually to the point you can walk the beach and have the water go over your feet and the dirt doesn't feel wet. I saw crabs late one night on the beach, very interesting, next time I wear real shoes though lol.

First Doctor Appointment and Magazines

Yesterday was my first appointment with the doctor. Basically all that was done is we talked about my plans and if I was sticking in the area to give birth. In the military though nothing is for certain. After the meeting I was given a prescription and sent on my way to get my blood drawn. Ickkkk! The nurse was nice though, she didn't poke me and my arm today isn't bruised. I want her from now on. :)

Next appointment is in August and they'll do a small ultrasound to tell how old the baby is and the new expected due date. No kids allowed though so hubby won't be able to come in since it is summer time. :(

Have you ever noticed the collection of different magazines in a hospital room? I love the ones that have new magazines but the ones from a year or two ago? I'm guessing those are just donations. Speaking of which I found a new site, it gives you a list of magazines and great prices. MagazinePriceSearch.com will help you narrow down your search. Stop paying the outrageous prices when you can get the same magazine for half the price. I could pay $4 for a one year subscription to the Pregnancy Magazine. I know normally it costs that much just to buy it in the stores. If you don't believe it check it out, they will list all types of companies and their deals so you get to compare.

An article on Baby Name Meanings

I wanted to state that no I did not write this article I did come across it while searching for baby names. A neat thing I discovered, my girls' first names both end in the same letter and all my children have names from Shakespeare plays, so I think it is only fair to name this one after someone from one. I didn't realize that until two weeks ago.

Baby Name Meanings
Michael Barrows

Speaking as a Michael (a Hebrew name, meaning "Who is like God"), I'm really proud of my name. And I think that I - mostly - live up to the title! Of course, my mother would probably disagree; I think the phrase "little devil" would probably pass her lips if she was describing me during many stages of my childhood.

But then, my mother has her own issues; apparently her name (Kathleen) is a Celtic name meaning "Little Darling". Hmmm, that isn't the way I used to think about her during those regular occasions when she was punishing me for my "not like God" behaviour…!

And that's the fun of baby name meanings - parents make naming decisions based on many, many different reasons, including family traditions, religion, culture, uniqueness and "it just sounds really nice." But - in the Western world - we rarely do any real research into the history or real meaning of baby names. So when the poor/lucky child finally finds out the meaning of his/her "really nice sounding" name, the results can be interesting, ironic, unfortunate or just sometimes hilarious.

You can have a lot of fun thinking up family/friends names, finding out the meanings and trying to make a connection between the two. For example, my eldest brother Clive is apparently "a cliff dweller", which is coincidental, since he lives at the top of a very long steep hill! Or why not play the game with celebrities - consider the following:

Badu (as in r n'b singer Erykah Badu): African name meaning "Tenth born child"

Winona (as in actress Winona Ryder): Sioux name meaning "Firstborn daughter"

Aaliyah (the late r n'b singer): Arabic name meaning "High, exalted"

Hilary (as in actresses Duff/Swank): Latin name meaning "Cheerful"

Some cultures have very interesting traditions when it comes to baby name meanings. For example, Hindu names usually have connections with very positive things such as truth, beauty, happiness, blessings, etc, or one of the Hindu gods. In the Sikh culture, girls traditionally have the middle or surname "Kaur", meaning "Princess", whilst the boys have the middle or surname "Singh", meaning "Lion".

An African friend of mine once mentioned that many Africans are given a second name corresponding to the day of the week on which they were born. I think is a really nice tradition, but in my case, my middle name would be "Sondo" (born on Sunday)!! Hmmmm…

Whatever type of name you have chosen, or are thinking about for your "bundle of joy", its worth doing a little research into the meaning. And it's never been easier, with the wealth of Internet resources and books available, including my own site at www.all-about-baby-names.com, which is jam-packed with resources, tips and information on baby names, baby name meanings and baby products.

Your search may yield some surprises; for example, the lovely-sounding name "Malory" is French and means "Bad luck". You could get round this by spelling it "Mallory", but this means "Without good fortune" in Old German!

Alternatively, you may end up a little confused by different meanings of the same name; for example "Leah" is a beautiful girl's name, but what does it mean? Well…

" In Hebrew it means "Cow" or "Weary one" - uugghhh!
" In Greek it means "Glad tidings"
" In Assyrian, it means "Mistress, ruler"

And a final warning: if you are planning to go for a funky, unusual-sounding name, be sure to avoid "Bacia," - its Ugandan meaning is "Family deaths ruined the home!"

Michael Barrows' website has great advice for choosing baby names and lots of great baby resources. Get your free ebook packed with baby tips for new parents, visit http://www.all-about-baby-names.com

Life Update and Summer fun for kids...

Well this pregnancy is working on week 7. Kids ask me every day, what the baby is doing at this time. "What is it making now mommy?" I love these questions and they are learning a lot about how a baby is formed.

The other day my daughter asked, "Mommy is the egg going to fall out of you? Does the baby live in an egg now?"

So trying not to confuse her I said, "Well, the egg helped create the baby and now the baby is in kind of like a hotel room."

My son overheard and replied, "So, it's kind of like Suite Life of Zack and Cody, but instead it is Suite Life of the Baby."

So that's what's going on in BabyLife, every day they talk with my tummy and kiss it. Yes, they are excited. BabyGirl of course asks every day if baby is coming. I'm still not feeling very pregnant except for my tummy being bigger, but no morning sickness which I'm VERY happy about. Just makes it feel funny I'm not sitting in front of the toilet every day.

Kids Have a Website now

That's right my kids saw how much fun it is for me to blog, they also like seeing who wins on how many cents I get per week using google. I normally don't beat .50 but it's fun to guess. Sooooo, I decided to let them get creative and start blogging, now of course I'm going to help them. They're making their outlines and telling me what they want me to write. Not to worry they are writing them at home and I'm taking it from there. My son, he's nine and writing all about yo-yos. Yo-YoBlogging I'll add the other two once they are complete. Please stop by and tell him hi. Thank you all.

Going through Chairs during the pregnancy.....Time to buy a new one!

Okay every pregnancy, it never fails but for some reason I end up breaking my chairs. No, not just because of the weight. You know those old k-mart dining room sets? The cheap version that all you do is place the pegs together and you get a chair. Well I sat in them most of the time with my last pregnancy because well, they were better than the couch. But what I didn't know is that they start coming undone. Yep, I finally would get it to where the chair was just waiting to laugh at me and when I sat in it I fell all the way through. Talk about a big OWIEEEE as the kids would call it.

So, this time around I want a comfortable chair, something nice and soft but something that isn't going to break. I have found one. This chair is over at BizChair.com, the actually link is here..http://www.bizchair.com/gg-b078-silver.html It may not be supersoft but it is sure to be safe, everything is made of metal, not wood that can splinter and break. There is a 60-day guarantee, so if some how I do break it within the first month I can get my money back. WOO HOO.

Now about the chair, it's mesh, so you know you aren't going to get too stuck on your chair during a hot day. But it also means it'll be light because mesh allows the breeze from outside to cool your body down. Hey, my computer room is next to my back door, which is perfect for watching the kids. The normal price for this chair is close to $600 but it is on sale for $179.99, can you really beat that?

You won't be stuck to the floor in this chair either, it's a swivel chair so you can turn or scoot it down the hall or across the room if need be. You are able to adjust your chair to your comfort level, so don't worry if you aren't tall. There is even tilt control, so you don't have to sit straight up. Yes, I know that's the best way to sit for posture but after several hours you are wanting to get comfortable. This is perfect to add as your office chair.

My Pregnancy News

Okay so now I'm going to give you the scoop. I'm 5 weeks pregnant, actually I became 5 weeks pregnant on this past Tuesday. That's what the doctors say anyways, it's amazing how they count the pregnancy because I can tell ya the exact day it happened and that was the 14th.But doctor knows best, they count it from the first day of your last period.

Okay, I won't go into details on how it happened but I knew right away. I figure this may actually help some of you that might think you are, remember to always confirm it with a doctor. By the 19th I had this tummy twirling feeling in the pit of my stomach. It reminded me of the feeling you get when you feel like something has just happened but no one has called to tell you what it was. After that I started getting these MILD cramps, kind of like PMS cramps I'm told ... funny thing is I've never had those. Plus I was in the bathroom every hour, not throwing up but peeing. UGH. I needed lots of water too and I hate water. The last sign that gave me a clue was when my youngest daughter climbed into my lap and pressed against my chest. I felt wet there and discovered I had leaked colustrum.* I knew then, without a doubt I was pregnant. Everything else I could dismiss as PMS related, but not this, no way.

I took a home pregnancy test the monday before my period negative. But I knew this would be too early, test said four days and this would be the 5th day before. I took another that Saturday morning, faint positive. I knew I was. Took another again that following Monday and it became a darker positive. That's when I called the doctor and had it confirmed a few days later, of course I had to wait until July 5th to find out since the 4th was a holiday.

My first appointment is in two weeks. They don't see you until you are 8-10 weeks pregnant, doctor doesn't meet you until you are 12 weeks or more. I'm actually getting excited and have MANY months to go.

Pregnancy Symptoms:
tummy quessy feeling
peeing every hour
pms type cramps (mild)
colustrum
missed period
positive pregnancy test

*Colustrum is the stuff that comes out before the milk. It's yellowish/clear and sticky.

Pregnancy Announcements!

Okay, I guess this would be the perfect time to tell everyone that reads my blog that I'm not sick. Nope, found out yesterday...I'm pregnant. Hmm, now how would one tell the rest of her family? Keep in mind I already have three kids and told everyone we were done having children. haha.

Okay that part comes all with time but what about when the baby is born. I have 10 months, actually 9 now to figure out how I'll let everyone know when this little one is born. One thing I'm looking at is birth announcements. There are the plain ones that just give the information or the photo birth announcements that have a picture of your newborn inside.

I think the photo one would work out perfect because most of my family lives on the other side of the coast and won't get to see the baby unless they fly out. I'm not traveling lol. There is a site that I found that specializes in this, it's called BabysHere.com it has everything from Baby Shower invitations to birth announcements.

You can get either sex or one that is neutral. The cost per card is $1.19 and if you order over 80 cards they ship them for ya for free. That's GREAT! Ya know you'll need a bunch because you are suppose to let all the family members know, even the cousins you dont talk with much. ;)You can even read articles at http://www.babyshere.com from what the zodiac signs are or how to name your baby.

Okay, now go relax and start thinking of those names. We already have a boy name picked out, but the girl will be a bit trickier.

Kids & Drugs - Ways to Find Out

No parent likes to think his/her children are on drugs. However, it is always on our minds. We know we've taught them not to do it but will they crack under pressure. Only if we could have some type of thing that shows us our kid is taking them so we don't have to ask them that one question. Apparently there is a new drug out there that you can test it on your kid's hair to find out if they are actually using drugs or not. What's your take on it? Would you use this on your kid?

To find out more about what I'm talking about visit http://www.testcountry.com/shop.asp?action=12&product=1527

Basically this product can use any hair on your child, even if they have a shaved head. Arm hair, facial, etc. Take the hair and mail it to the lab and it should let ya know from the past 3 months if they have been using any type of drug.

I'm not too sure I'd use this but if I worried my kids was on drugs this might be the perfect way to find out. You know kids don't always tell ya the truth, not unless they know you have proof in hand.

Confessions of a SAHM...

Okay my first confession is no I don't have a job out of the home, not unless you count the internet. Yes, I do write and make money. That is my all time favorite thing to do besides spending time with my kids.

One of those things I write is a celebrity blog and a bunch of others, but the celebrity blog is the one I have the most fun with. You can find it at http://www.entertainusnews.blogspot.com.

One may wonder how I can find information on celebrities, that's easy I use search engines. The only way to getyoursearchon is by picking one of your favorite search engines and type away. I LOVE google, they have everything, then askjeeves and yahoo. I really hate msn, sorry msn but ya never work for me. I use search engines every day that I get online, whether it is to look up some childhood sickness I think my kids have or look for a job. It's an easy way to find the latest gossip for the stars too. Or look at search engines and see how popular your name is. Try it out today and see where you stand. What's your favorite search engine?

How much time do I write? Hmm, that question should be when I go to bed. I write most of the time when my kids are down for the count. However, when they abandon me to the outside world I hop on and first thing in the morning.

Is my house sparkling clean? hahah, you do it with my three kids. The minute I clean one room they mess it up right after I walk out. Don't ask me how they do it. They just do. Hey, I don't have a maid but if I had the money I would.

Why do I want to earn money? Hmm, because it makes me feel good. I'm not going out and getting a job out of the house. I'm actually doing something I loved and that's writing. What job is better than that?

What are your confessions?

Secrets...

Okay, well not that many people read this but I feel pretty safe in talking on here without many knowing whom I really am. So here goes

Been sick since around the 19th, nope not from the shot either. Actually leg is feeling much better. It has it's moments when it acts up but I'm guessing that is normal. But off that subject, I've had this butterfly-want to toss my cookies feelings since 19th. It has become less which is good. I'll get it a few times a day.

Truth is I have a feeling I know what it is, but just not ready to tell no one. Since I don't have anything confirmed I don't want to say it. But when I do find out, how do I tell people? Man, I hate secrets...especially when I want to tell everyone. Know that feeling?
